Description
La Puntual is the theater in Barcelona in which puppets, marionettes and Chinese shadows are the only protagonists. Every weekend they take to our stage to represent stories, tales and plays for family audiences.
La Puntual is located in the Ribera neighborhood, next to the Borne Market, the Ciudadela Park or the Chocolate Museum, a neighborhood already in the s. In the 19th century, comedies with puppets were staged in cafeterias.
We owe the name "La Puntual" to the illustrious Santiago Rusiñol, emblematic artist of Catalan modernism. He wrote the well-known play “L’Auca del Senyor Esteve”, the action said theatrical piece takes place in a haberdashery in the Ribera neighborhood called… La Puntual.
