Réplica da Carabela Pinta

Baiona was the first port in Europe to receive the news of the Discovery of America. On March 1, 1493, the Caravel Pinta, led by Martín Alonso Pinzón, docked in these waters. With the commemoration of the V Centennial of the Discovery a replica of the boat that remains moored, for visitors, was built on one of the docks.

In 1999 the interior of the nave was reconditioned, equipping it with all the elements of the Colombian era, both from the Christian culture and from the indigenous Taíno culture. In this way the visitor can contemplate the caravel as it arrived at Baiona in 1493 and relive the feat of the discovery contemplating the figures that represent the crew and the American Indians, in addition to reproductions of the metals, plants, food and exotic animals found in the new world. Contains interpretive panels and interactive games.
